CRICES

Rehabilitationthat also teaches.

The rehabilitation centre of the Instituto Científico de Educación Superior treats the general public and is, at the same time, where our Physical Therapy students learn the craft with real patients.

About CRICES

A clinic insidethe school.

CRICES opened in 2023 on the campus of the Instituto Científico de Educación Superior. It was founded with a double purpose: to strengthen the hands-on training of our Physical Therapy students and to offer specialised care to anyone who needs it, whether or not they belong to the institute's community.

Every course of treatment is handled jointly by the clinic supervisor, the degree's interns and the students on professional placement, always under the corresponding supervision. That is the arrangement that puts academic knowledge and professional practice in the same room.

Here the patient gets care and the student learns. Neither one is an excuse for the other.

Facilities

The areasof the centre.

The way the spaces are laid out makes it possible to run different rehabilitation procedures and activities according to each patient's characteristics, needs and goals.

  • Reception

Where it all starts: the patient is registered and an assessment appointment is scheduled.

  • Assessment area

The room where each person's particular needs and characteristics are identified before any treatment is proposed.

  • Electrotherapy

Therapeutic application of electrical currents, within the protocol defined for each patient.

  • Thermotherapy

Heat and cold treatment with compresses, supporting the rest of the procedures.

  • Hydrotherapy

Rehabilitation in water, one of the three services the assessment can prescribe.

  • Mechanotherapy

Parallel bars, apparatus and conditioning equipment for strength, gait and mobility work.

  • Practice room

The teaching space of the centre, with anatomical models and lab material: this is where students rehearse before they reach a patient.
