About the program

Rehabilitationand movement health

Across eight semesters you'll learn to understand the human body through anatomy and biomechanics, and to apply that knowledge with current tools: therapeutic exercise, electrotherapy, hydrotherapy, mechanotherapy, orthotics and prosthetics.

You do not learn it in the classroom alone. From the fourth semester you begin clinical practice in hospitals and rehabilitation centres, applying what you learn in class with real patients under professional supervision.

Graduate profile

The therapistyou will become

By the end of eight semesters you won't just know what to do with a patient — you'll know why. These are the four capabilities you leave ICES with.

  • Functional assessment and diagnosis

You examine the patient, measure their movement capacity and pinpoint the origin of the injury, drawing on anatomy, biomechanics and diagnostic imaging.

  • Treatment and rehabilitation

You design and deliver treatment plans with therapeutic exercise, electrotherapy, hydrotherapy, mechanotherapy, orthotics and prosthetics, and adjust them as the patient progresses.

  • Care at every stage of life

You treat paediatric, sports, neurological, orthopaedic, cardiorespiratory and geriatric patients, in a hospital, a clinic or on the field.

  • Ethics, research and teamwork

You join interdisciplinary teams across the health sector, document your practice with research methodology and decide within the legal and bioethical framework of the profession.
